Marriott International and Marriott Vacations Worldwide Celebrate National Root Beer Float Day

In 1927, J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott launched their 9-seat A&W Root Beer Stand in Washington D.C. to cool off from the summer heat. From there, the Marriott family expanded their business to be what we know today as a leader in the hospitality industry. Since the beginning, they have stood by their 5 core values: Put People First, Pursue Excellence, Embrace Change, Act With Integrity and Serve Our World.

August 6th was National Root Beer Float Day and Marriott International, along with Marriott Vacations Worldwide, celebrated all week long in honor of their company’s history. Properties across Central Florida served up these delicious treats to associates and guests to honor their heritage and raise funds for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

We are grateful for Marriott’s spirit to serve the community as they continue to raise funds for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer through initiatives like Root Beer Float Day. Marriott International properties across Central Florida hosted a variety of Root Beer Float stands getting creative with decorations and soda-ice cream combinations. Miracle Kids Lauren, Patrick and William had a blast at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort stirring up their own creations.

Festivities did not end there, Miracle Kids Kendall and Carson, along with their younger brother Cooper, got to spend the day at the Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporate Office handing out refreshing Root Beer Floats to the MVW team.
