MEET 2024 NATIONAL CHAMPION JP

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals proudly introduces its newest cohort of National Champions, a group of extraordinary ambassadors dedicated to raising awareness about the critical need for charitable donations to support pediatric healthcare. These inspirational children and their families hail from diverse backgrounds and represent various member hospitals across the U.S. Each Champion’s unique journey exemplifies the profound impact of donations on their lives, underscoring the urgent need to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Meet JP:

When JP was born, he could barely move, constantly slept and wasn’t eating regularly. At nine months old, doctors began to fear JP would never be able to walk and continued to search for answers. Just before his second birthday, JP underwent genetic testing and was diagnosed with Potocki-Lupski Syndrome (PTLS), a very rare health condition caused by a duplication of a gene in chromosome 17. PTLS caused many of the complications that JP was experiencing, including his developmental delays, feeding and speech difficulties, low muscle tone, among several other conditions caused by the syndrome. Throughout his childhood, JP continued to receive care from many specialists, as JP’s family was determined to do everything they could to help him continue to grow stronger. Thanks to the early interventions, JP can walk, run, and dance with his seven siblings and continues to surpass all expectations. JP’s smile and laughter brings joy to everyone he meets. He is an avid sports fan and loves watching hockey, baseball, and soccer. JP is an athlete himself and is one of the top swimmers for the Special Olympics Central Florida team!

Thanks to donations, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children had the clinicians, programs and technology to help JP overcome challenges in his development and become the strongest version of himself.

Meet all the 2024 National Champions.
