Meet the Miracles: Alex

Miracle Mom Tinisha learned that her son Alex had a congenital heart defect before he was even born. Her doctors noticed something was wrong while she was pregnant with him and they told her she needed to go to The Heart Center at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. After multiple tests, Alex was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect that would require immediate medical attention to save Alex’s life.

At six days old, Alex endured his first open heart surgery and then spent six weeks in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) at Arnold Palmer Hospital.

The Heart Center at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children had vital equipment like life support machines, respiratory machines and even an Alaris Pump (shown below), which is a large volume infusion pump that helps deliver fluids &  medications that helped save Alex’s life. These are the kinds of things that donations to Children’s Miracle Network at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children makes possible.

Thanks to the care Alex received, he is now a healthy eight year old boy!
