Game Changers at Work: Crooms Academy Hosts Annual CroomsCon Benefitting Orlando Health Arnold Palmer

Students and faculty at Crooms Academy in Sanford, FL came together for their annual CroomsCon game day on Saturday, March 13th. This event brings together students from grades 7-12 to “game for good” with all proceedings benefitting Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

This year’s tournament consisted of video game free play and tournaments, featuring hit games like Rocket League, Super Smash Bros, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CroomsCon hosted their event virtually this year with game play broadcast via their very own CroomsCon Twitch.TV channel. This transition to a virtual event didn’t slow down our friends at Crooms Academy, as the community came together to raise $2,654 for the kids. Even more impressive is the substantial increase in online fundraising as participants increased their individual fundraising from an average of $25 per participant in 2020 to an average of $53 per participant in 2021.

Since CroomsCon begin nine years ago, the event has raised nearly $60,000 cumulatively to support pediatric healthcare charities, including Orlando Health Arnold Palmer. Congratulations to CroomsCon for hosting an incredible event!
