Celebrate Marriott’s Roots with a Root Beer Float

Marriott International’s roots trace back to 1927 when J. Williams and Alice S. Marriott launched their 9-seat A&W Root Beer Stand in Washington D.C. Their business principle to provide good service and great food allowed their business to expand to the first A&W franchises names “Hot Shoopes”.

In 1957, the Marriott family made a shift into the hotel industry and throughout the years became a leader in hospitality.  Along the way, they aligned themselves with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals – a cause near and dear to their hearts. Marriott International is our longest standing partner with the partnership unfolding back to 1983 when Bill Marriott donated hotel rooms for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals first telethon. Still today, Marriott’s culture of giving continues to be seen and felt through the generosity of associates and guests.

We are grateful for the continued support of Marriot International and Marriot Vacations Worldwide and join them in celebration as they honor their heritage serving delicious floats while also raising funds for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
