Torch Relay 2019

October was certainly a month of miracles, especially for our friends at Marriott Vacations Worldwide and Marriott International. On October 24th these two incredible partners came together to once again raise funds for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, at the annual Torch Relay 5K.

Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a unique multi-day event where participants can walk or run a segment of Torch Relay at events throughout the country to raise money for their local CMN Hospital. Torch Relay began in 2002 and since then has continued to grow and expand every year. From the simple beginnings of the event, Torch Relay for CMN Hospitals has raised over $15.1 million dollars for children’s hospitals nationwide.

This year, hundreds of Torch Relay participants, community members, friends and family gathered at the Orlando World Center Marriott to celebrate their year long efforts and enjoy some delicious BBQ from signature Marriott properties including the Orlando World Center Marriott, Gaylord Palms Resort, JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes, and Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld.

Though every dollar raised makes a difference in the lives of sick and injured children at our hospital, the Torchbearer Club recognizes those participants who go the extra mile and pledge to become top fundraisers for their local CMN Hospital. It’s our honor to recognize and express our sincere gratitude to Steve Weisz and Susan O’Neill, our 2019 Torch Bearers for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

As we near Thanksgiving, we share our gratitude for our Marriott Vacations Worldwide and Marriott associates that dedicated their time, energy, and resources to make Torch Relay 2019 a successful event!
