The Orlando Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
After two years of virtual events, the Orlando Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals made its return last month and we were all excited to gather in person once again to continue this fun tradition! On Monday, November 21st, 19 teams and over 300 participants came together to walk and run at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in support of the patients and families at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
Associates from Marriott Hotels, Marriott Vacations Worldwide and community members all came together to raise funds and make a difference in the lives of children across Central Florida that rely on Orlando Health Arnold Palmer each year. Joining in the fun to cheer participants on as they walked the course was Myles, our 2022 CMN Hospitals Champion for Orlando Health Arnold Palmer alongside many other miracle families and students from Knight-Thon, UCF’s Dance Marathon.
Several culinary teams from our full-service Marriott properties cooked delicious BBQ for participants to enjoy and competed for best BBQ of the evening. Congratulations to the Orlando World Center Marriott for winning best pork dish and The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for winning best chicken dish in the competition this year!
A special thank you to the Torch Relay planning committee, Marriott’s Central Florida Business Council, the Orlando World Center Marriott, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort and the many participants for making this event possible. Together we are changing the health and futures of children in our community! We look forward to another great event together in 2023.
