Meet the Team Behind Stetson University Hatterthon 2021-2022

Fresh off their most successful fundraising year in history, Stetson University’s Hatterthon Dance Marathon program has already began looking forward and preparing for what’s to come in what will be their sixth year as a program during the 2021-2022 school year. As we bid farewell to the senior class that helped make last year possible, a new team of leaders is ready to test the waters of how high this program can go.

Let’s take a moment to meet the new faces of Hatterthon 2021-2022.

What is your favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon?

  • My favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon is seeing the amount of impact we have on both Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the community that surrounds us!

What are you most excited about this year?

  • I am most excited to interact with our participants in person and help bring the community together throughout this upcoming year.

What has your involvement looked like in Dance Marathon prior to taking on this new role on the management team?

  • My freshman year, I was a 1st year Emerging Leader Captain. My sophomore year I was the External Events Chair on the Executive Board!

What is your favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon?

  • My favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon is the passion that everyone involved shares.

What are you most excited about this year?

  • I’m most excited to see what new heights Hatterthon will hit during the year. Hatterthon has grown so much in just five years so I cannot wait to see what year six will bring!

What has your involvement looked like in Dance Marathon prior to taking on this new role on the management team?

  • My freshman year I was a Morale Captain. My sophomore year I was on the Executive Board serving as the Design Chair. Junior year I served on the management team as the Event Director!

What is your favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon?

  • Getting to see the end result of the impact we make on our community at our main event!

What are you most excited about this year?

  • Getting to work alongside a great group of people to help break previous years’ milestones.

What has your involvement looked like in Dance Marathon prior to taking on this new role on the management team?

  • Freshman year I served as a 1st Year Emerging Leader Captain. Sophomore year I served on the Executive Board as the Accounting Chair.

 

Chanel Gerena

 What is your favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon?

  • My favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon is getting the chance to see the impact we are making at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children by working together alongside passionate individuals.

What are you most excited about this year?

  • For this upcoming year, I am most excited for the chance to advocate for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in our community in hopes of spreading the word about our cause.

What has your involvement looked like in Dance Marathon prior to taking on this new role on the management team?

  • Prior to becoming the Event Director, I served as the Main Event Chair on the Executive Board. I was also the Executive Director of my K-12 school’s Dance Marathon program when I was in high school.

What is your favorite part about being involved in Dance Marathon?

  • Being able to educate and fundraise for kids who are sick and injured in the hospital.

What are you most excited about this year?

  • I am most excited to be able to make more of an impact than previous years and change kids’ lives.

What has your involvement looked like in Dance Marathon prior to taking on this new role on the management team?

  • When I was a freshman I served as the Team Captain for my sorority. My sophomore year I joined the Executive Board as the Recruitment Chair!
