Marriot Celebrates Root Beer Float Day Throughout the Month of August

Throughout the month of August, Marriott Hotels across the country have us all raising our mugs in celebration of National Root Beer Float Day and their humble beginnings.

Celebrating 40 years of miracles as Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ longest corporate partner, Marriott Hotels’ commitment to changing kid’s health is stronger than ever. Marriott’s legacy traces back to 1927 when J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott established their 9-seat A&W Root Beer Stand in Washington, D.C., to quench people’s thirst on hot summer days. Thirty years after founding his first business, J.W. Marriott expanded into the lodging business and since then, Marriott has evolved into the leader it is known as in the hospitality industry today.

Through their continued dedication and spirit serve, teams at Marriott Hotels, including many across Central Florida, will be serving up root beer floats to celebrate their beginnings while also collecting donations to support their local member hospital of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the outstanding Marriott teams across Central Florida who are proudly participating in this meaningful celebration in support of Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Thank you, Marriott, for spreading that root beer cheer and for continuing to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
