Knight-Thon Celebrates Charge on Challenge

Knight-Thon, Dance Marathon at the University of Central Florida (UCF), recently celebrated its annual fall fundraising campaign, Charge on Challenge. Held on November 12-13, this two-day fundraising event united the UCF campus community to “charge on” in support of greatest need at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children – the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion.

Set to open in 2026, the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion will become the region’s first and only advanced facility to provide multidisciplinary outpatient specialized care for children and teenagers and serve as an essential link between the time a patient spends in the hospital and the follow-up care needed.

Knight-Thon challenged participants to raise $30 or more during the campaign honor of the 30+ specialties and services that will be provided in the Orlando Health Children’s Pavilion. Knight-Thon’s students, teams and supporters rallied behind this call to action as they worked towards personal fundraising goals to help transform pediatric care in Central Florida.

Knight-Thon concluded Charge on Challenge with a “Paddles for the Pavilion” pickleball tournament. More than 30 teams registered to participate in an evening of friendly competition. The winning team received a donation to their fundraising efforts and custom paddles designed by CMN Hospitals National Champion, JP.

Knight-Thon celebrated an incredible total of $42,230 during Charge on Challenge thanks to the passion and dedication of the UCF community. This great success serves as a conclusion to an impressive fall semester and has set the stage for even greater achievements as Knight-Thon looks ahead to its main event in the spring.
