On September 13, Walmart Market 96 demonstrated their commitment to the local community by volunteering at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children’s Superhero Carnival, a heartwarming event celebrating Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

The Superhero Carnival held at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer was a day filled with laughter, joy, and endless smiles. This event was dedicated to honoring the young warriors treated in the oncology and hematology units, providing them with a much-needed break from the challenging hospital environment. The carnival brought community and corporate partners together to engage and entertain patients and families through games, activities, and giveaways. For these brave children, the carnival created an environment for them to simply be kids and to celebrate their remarkable strength and resilience.

Market leadership, store managers and team members from Market 96 volunteered at this event to help create an unforgettable experience for these young superheroes. From helping at registration, to serving snacks and playing games alongside patients and families, this opportunity allowed them to witness firsthand the compassion and joy that Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, along with support from its partners, brings to the patients and the families we serve.

Throughout the year, this market engages in fundraising efforts to support Orlando Health Arnold Palmer, including their annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign. Comprising of 13 stores, Market 96 raised over $50,000 during their 5-week campaign this year—an impressive testament to their dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
